We've started our 6th year in our apartment here in Brooklyn this February. Each and every spring, without fail, a wee little Starling couple painstakingly start their nest. We watch them fly back and forth, various odds and ends in beak. Even watching the gentlemen Starling hold watch on the rooftops of the buildings adjacent to us, is nothing less than fascinating.
More than any other part of the process, it's truly the nest that holds me in awe. These city birds find anything and everything and anywhere to make their homes. And their only goal to hear the day the sweetest little "peep"s erupt from within.
There's nothing like spring :)
