Etsy Labs

Oh yeah!!

And how could I forget :) Last week, I finally poured my self a mug of guts and confidence and went on over to Etsy Labs Craft Night!!

What I thought would be a quick walk turned out to be a bit of a jog around NYU's Poly Tech Campus (watch out for those campus patrols... they mean business!)

Then it was a matter of picking a button to buzz at 325 Gold Street. Maneuvering a gorgeous, old rustic warehouse floor and then BAM! There you are. Craft Central.

We made spooky Halloween coasters led by the great and powerful Kimmchi :) I met some truly wonderful people (ehhem, Danielle. ehhem, Brick House.) and had a fantastic time! They didn't even make fun of my sewing!

The following were snapped by Kimm:

SO, if you're in the NYC area and have yet to get off yer keester and join in, COME ON DOWN!!

So Long Billy!

On the Brooklyn Heights Promenade

We've had the pleasure of hosting little Billy McDollar last week. We had been waiting with glee for some time, when our day finally came! He arrived in a 9x5 box with his suitcase, journal, disposable camera and a gift for us: A florida key chain with a twirling $100 bill :)

The cats took to him immediately, giving him the royal sniff down. I gave him a seat nearest the window to get him acclimated to brooklyn at large.

The following is a picture journey of our week with Billy.

**Scroll to the end to find out how you can enter to win all the goodies Billy has picked up along his journey across the country!!**

Peach Picks: Kitty Butt Pads

Gentleman caller from estasketch

Blogmaster2000 and I have 3 gorgeous, brilliant felines (if one wasn't staring at me right now, I'd tell you how I really felt....). They recently took over the top of a tall standing bookcase as sleeping quarters.

I couldn't help but wonder of all the different plushy goodies that could be laid out to entice a furry one into a long afternoon cat nap. Then I thought, well there must be some AMAZING handmade cat mats out there just waiting to be snatched up!

And so there are:

Crock Pot Cooking

From mjecker on Flickr

Anyone out there, like me, only ever think a slow cooker was for pot roast?? Now, I can make a mean slow cooked chunk of meat, but I was thinking the other day, "there just HAS to be more to it!"

From FotoosVanRobin on Flickr

So I extend a challenge to you all. Dig through your cookbooks, call your mothers, grandmothers, heck call your dad, your friends, your friends' friends! Maybe they'll know! But find some fantastic crock pot recipes and share them here!! I beg of you, let's get crafty with our cooking :)

A new kind of Tag

Awhile back I received a few "you've been tagged!!" notifications and have yet to do anything about them :) The only one I've been able to dig up, is from the lovely Cindy, of Cthings.

Over the weekend, I was catching up on my blog roll reading when I came across a new and innovative Tag post from Red Otter (smooches to you m'lady!). I thought I'd give it a shot!

You can only answer in one word

1. Your cell phone? Chocolate
2. Where is your significant other? Bed
4. Your mother? Life
5. Your father? Love
6. Your favourite thing? Warmth
7. Your dream last night? Surreal
8. Your dream/goal? Independence
11. Your fear? Solitude
12. Where do you want to be in 6 years? Country
13. Where were you last night? Work
18. What are you wearing? Slippers

29. Your favorite color? Yellow
30. When is the last time you laughed? Minutes

That's that! In the way of Ms. Otter, I'll not be pointing fingers. But anyone who'd like to do this for the fun of it, send over a link when you're done!!

One Girl Cookie

Hey Ya'll!!

After a weeks hiatus I'm literally overflowing with things to talk about! I couldn't resist starting off with this most amazing Brooklyn-based sweets shop: One Girl Cookie.

It's nearly impossible to walk by their sheik yet homey little store front and not cop a squat in their high back bowl chairs and warm up with a cup of tea..... and a slice of cake..... and maybe a woopie pie..... with a box of cookies to go.

I bring them up now as I found out today (after my Hot Chocolate and Pumpkin Spice Woopie) that they ship nationally! Holla!! So shop if you dare, but at the very least, feast your eyes on these mouth watering delicacies!

Mmmmmm Hmmmmmm :)
