Vintage on Etsy

I know there's been much controversy over whether or not Etsy should allow Vintage items to be sold on their "place to buy all things handmade" site.

I honestly don't mind, when the guidelines are followed as per what is allowed and not, as it brings a lovely variety and richness throughout the searches and shops.

That said, the other day an "Etsy Finds" email inspired me to compile this group of gone but not forgotten pieces :) I hope you enjoy:

Clicking on the picture above will bring you to the image uploaded to my Flickr. It can be Viewed here until Friday, 10:45 pm EST. And now in more detail:

*FEATURED ARTIST of the week* ~~CozyMoments~~

CozyMoments
Bath, Body, Home

1. What do you create?

Bath and Body Goodies and Natural Soy Wax Wickless Candles and Melts, or as we like to call our melts, 'Cozy Melts'. ;)

2. What led you to take up your craft?

I suffered from dry skin most of my life and I became passionate about creating pampering and soothing products that would rid me of my dry skin.

For the candles/melts - I used to love to burn candles but I seemed to always either get a headache from them or get terrible sinus problems, so my ENT concluded it had to be the paraffin! I researched this and found natural soy wax and began teaching myself how to make natural soy wax candles/melts. No more headaches or sinus problems here. ;)

3. Which part of your work do you most enjoy?

I enjoy it all really but I especially love making soap. I can be most creative with our soaps.

4. Which part do you find hardest?

Decorating everything! I love to do it but it is very time consuming.

5. Where do you get your inspiration?

My customers. My customers give me so many awesome ideas as far as which scents they love, products they would like to see me carry, etc.

6. Do you participate in any etsy groups, and if so, which ones?

I did in several but my time has become so limited I had to reprioritize. ;)

7. What's one material your shop can't live without?

Fragrance Oil.

8. What is your favorite item that you have purchased off of Etsy?

A little amigurumi the seller halix called, "Lamby". I absolutely LOVE him! He is TOO cute!

9. If I could sell one item from my shop today, it would be...

Lavender and Peppermint Creamy Sugar Foot Scrub. It is an awesome foot scrub, esp. after a long day working. :)

A real "pamper me" product.

10. If I had enough money to pick one item on my wish list from any shop on etsy to buy, it would be...

Tallulah Earrings - Swiss Blue Topaz Green Amethyst Prehnite Keshi Petal Pearls and Solid 18k Gold from sandraeileenjewelry.

GORGEOUS earrings!

11. What are the top three favorite items currently listed in your store?

Pink Sugar anything (I use this scent in a lot of our products as our customers LOVE it)

Foaming Sugar Body Polish and our

Foaming Bath and Shower Cream Soap. :)

12. What undiscovered artisans would you recommend the world to know?

I am not sure I know of any undiscovered, but who I would recommend would be the following:

PurdyThings,

PinkaWink,

NewEnglandQuilter,

therosecottage,

AnnieHowes and

TheCelticCottage. :)

13. What is the best advice you have ever received?

List, A LOT! ;)

2 Treasuries for you

I wanted to include these 2 treasuries here today. The 1st of which I've been wanting to put together for some time. It can be a rough thing getting started with your brand new etsy shop, finding your niche. I did an "undiscovered" pounce and went on an Indiana Jones exploration of sorts :) Here's what I came up with:

mockingbird33
JBijoux
miamagic
ClayGiraffe
joyfeltcreations
felicianoartgallery
M641
bcreationsjewelry
pupntaco
RitualBath
TheArtDude
cspotdesigns

This "NEW undiscovered NEW" treasury is over but can be seen in Flickr by clicking on the image. The 2nd one I'd like to share was something fun I put together from my convo box (okay all but 3 but still!). I took an item from each person I had a message from and this is what came to be:

RedOtter
RedMarionette
kimmchi
acrudele
terbearco
MyissaG
lizbee
enigmavintage
TheSweetSpot
MichelleAlynn
jvdarcy
picklehead

This one is still up for the next two days for viewing!
