*FEATURED ARTIST of the week* ~~MyissaG~~

I recently made a treasury in homage of a select few of the many people I've met and fell in love with on Etsy. These people invigorate me to rediscover myself every chance I can get. Here is one of those remarkably talented, extraordinarily compassionate and positively inspiring people that I'm honored to have in my life.

MyissaG

Q. What do you create?

I make handmade crocheted items for you and your home. I love making afghans for people to cuddle up with. I also enjoy making useful items for around the home. Things like dishcloths, coasters and bath and body items.

Q. What led you to take up your craft?

My mom, and my Grandma both crocheted. I grew up with hand crocheted items and enjoyed them. Crochet is also great stress relief for me.

Q. Which part of your work do you most enjoy?

I love seeing the finished item. It is always amazing what you can make out of a ball of yarn. :)

Q. Which part do you find hardest?

Finding the time to make all the items that I want to make.

Q. Where do you get your inspiration?

Sometimes from around the farm. Sometimes I will be outside and see something that makes me want to make something to match. Like there will be times when the sky will look certain colors. And I want to put them into something. :) I love to make items that people will find useful and be able to use for a long time to come.

Q. Do you participate in any etsy groups, and if so, which ones?

I do participate in a couple.
They are Etsy friends and Etsy hookers

Q. What's one material your shop can't live without?

Yarn :)

Q. What is your favorite item that you have purchased off of Etsy?

This cute little pocketbook. I use it all the time.

Q. If I could sell one item from my shop today, it would be...

It would be my stained glass afghan. It is a unique
afghan made with many vibrant colors.

Q. If I had enough money to pick one item on my wishlist from any shop on etsy to buy, it would be...

This gorgous quilt. I just love the way it is put together. :)

Q. What are the top three favorite items currently listed in your store?

Chester The Bear
True Love Crocheted Afghan
Dusted Rose Shoulder Wrap

Q. What undiscovered artisans would you recommend the world to know?

Craftedfromtheheart
She has a beautiful shop just filled with many nice things. :)

Q. What is the best advice you have ever received?

Some of the best advise I have received is:
Get involved in the forums.
Get to know people around Etsy.
Try to list items as frequently as possable.

Etsy for Charity

We are the featured seller of the week for Etsy for Charity! This is an marvelous group of fellow etsians who donate items into a collective to be sold with 100% of the proceeds going to help others. Here's more about them:

You can also view our feature spread here :)
Feature

--------------------------------------------------------
Who are we?
------------------
+ A group of dedicated Etsyians who feel the need to give. Every month we pick from a selection of charities that the members put into the poll. The charity with the most votes gets our attention for that month.
+ Since every month its a new charity, more charities get attention and donations :).
+ You don't have to just live in the US either. we're a group that spans the globe. So we try and pick charities we all can donate to $$ wise.
-------------------------------------------------------
Do I have to donate to the monthly charity?
-------------------
It'd be really super if you did, but no, you won't be forced to donate to anything you don't want to. And if you don't want to give a $$ donation you're more than welcome to donate an item to the EFC shop where 100% of the proceeds after the fees go to that charity of the month.
-------------------------------------------------------
What if I already donate to charities?
--------------------
Awesome! so do I! I actually run a charity group! :). Just because you donate to other charities outside the monthly one doesn't mean that you can't join. If you don't want to do $$ donation for the charity of the month AND your own charities that you support, again, you can offer items to the shop and not have to worry about it :).
-------------------------------------------------------
Don't you guys do monthly challenges too?
--------------------
Yup! I started the idea for the group to try and instate a challenge every month. the challenge items get put into the shop, voted on, and the winner either gets to pick from the prize bucket (gifts and offers EFC members put into the bucket) OR get a "seller of the week" post in the blog (this will be happening more often now that I'm back in the country :) )
-------------------------------------------------------
... I don't like your monthly challenge idea
---------------------
thats fine. You're not forced to join them. Its just a fun way to promote your shop and be challenged with the things you make.
-------------------------------------------------------
Where do I sign up?

You can join the EFC ning site:
