The Slice

Do you guys have your favorite pizza place nailed down? And no, I don't mean the evil (yet delicious) Dominos and Papa John's of the world. But the good ol' Mom and Pop, been there since the dawn of man kind of pizza place.

Well, we ordered from ours last night and I just couldn't resist sharing :) It took us awhile to weed through the array of different whole in the wall joints, offering their version of a slice. And frankly, I can't bring myself to take the trek down the big hill to the famous pick-up-only joint down in DUMBO. So we call Fascati our home away from Italy.

I'd love to know about your most cherished take out, delivery or eat ins and even link us to some shots! There's nothing like seeing for yourself, I always say! So bring 'em if ya got 'em!

Oh Man!!!! NOT NICE!!!!! I love pizza!! We don't really have anything here that I am crazy over. (Pizza wise) But back home in Michigan there was a wonderful place. I miss it. The owner died years ago and his children sold off the business.(So sad) Once it sold it was never the same.

Ha! This really makes me laugh. I just posted something about pizza. I'm eating WAY too much of it lately! I love Totonno's in NYC. But now that I've moved to the 'burbs, we have a new local spot that is pretty great, I'm happy to say. There's nothing in the world like NYC pizza.

If you are ever in Greenpoint, you have to try Russ. It is so good. (And we order there too much, they know us!)

the lil bee, there really isn't, is there :)

Janelle, we definitely will! My boyfriend's grandmother lived there most of her life and we've been meaning to take a walk through her old neighborhood, we'll definitely stop off at Russ!

That is the BIGGEST thing I miss about NY - the PIZZA! Oh my goodness...you just can't get the same anywhere else!

Ooh, pizza pie!! My favorite in Milwaukee is Tenuta's in Bay View...

http://www.tenutasitalian.com/

Their roots are Kenosha natives....my hometown, which has a large Italian population and some of the best pizza and other food EVER!!! That sounds super good right now ;)

Since I moved to Atlanta from NYC, I have yet to find a pizza place that I crave. But the good thing (at least health-wise) is, I hardly eat pizza anymore. Eh, that doesn't make me feel any better about it.

I could eat pizza for breakfast, lunch and dinner every day of the year! I LOVE me some gooey greasy cheese, a sauce of real tomatoes- not too sweet, and I'm flexible with toppings. Just make mine NY Style, straight out of the brick oven, baby. We had 3 generations of family in Norfolk, VA going to Regino's...OMG, that was the absolute best. I still remember going with my mom and grandma (now departed) after a big day of shopping. Man, I could go on and on, apparently...sorry- don't mean to hog your blog, lol! Thanks for the walk down memory lane. xo

I have come to notice that folks in Chicago have very strong opinions about pizza- ha! I'm not a huge fan of deep dish (shhh!). My husband and I like this local place called La Villa. They do a good thin crust. I love pizza- hot or cold.

Thanks again for the recent purchase. I posted Vana's gift on my blog. :)

Someone beat me to it, but Totonnos... the one in Coney Island. Mmmm, I really need to make a trek out there.

I've never even eaten at the one in Dumbo... it always has a line out the door when we walk by. Not good with kids.

Wow, Fascati is literally just a few blocks away from me and I've never tried it! I will have to check it out. We go to Grimaldi's when we can brave the line, but that is not too often.
