Silver, our sweet little Rental Car
Here we are on Day 2 of being back in the city. I'm sleeping better but my mind still wanders to the creeks, streams, ponds and clearings with their vast mountainous landscapes :) A definite solace has been the 256 photos we took. I've loaded some onto Flickr and wanted to share them with you!
We saw a ton of these little guys (the one pictured being Gregory), some highly curious, reminding me of the insanely friendly squirrels in Central Park.... watch your food, that's all I'll say!

On our last sunny day, we headed to North Lake/South Lake, rented a canoe and set sail! We let the boat bank against some brush and cast out to try out luck :) This little guy was just about the biggest fish we pulled in! They all made off with their worms though, little rascals!
I couldn't resist snapping a shot of this cute little mug. As soon as I did, he tucked his teeny tail between his legs and high stepped it out of there!
But my absolute favorite was this magical little pond within an ominous sounding state Park: Devils Tombstone. The minute you stepped up to the bank of water, you could see the grass swish and sway. Upon closer inspection, the tussle and hubbub was created by bunches of tiny little salamanders running for their lives! They were very dramatic :) We coaxed a few into making friends but otherwise simply enjoyed watching them float, arms splayed, like mini alligators.

Thanks for sitting through my home movie for today! Peach Picks tomorrow :) Then Friday I'll torture you with a few more shots!!
Happy Wednesday!
Oh! And here's some Moomers :)
