The Atlantic Antic 2008

Blogmaster2000 and I got our crafty groove on at the The 34th Annual Atlantic Antic Street Festival last Sunday. It's been the highlight of our fall season for some time now :) We met at the corner of Atlantic & 4th and got right down to business!

I recognized the amazing Better Than Jam instantly. Awhile back, at the Brooklyn Home Show, I had gotten an awesome purple A-line tote bag for my sister. She literally hasn't stopped talking about it since she got it!

It was a super special treat to finally see Wabisabi Brooklyn's work in person. She was a bit leery of my photographing her items. But with the intense throngs of people about, I can't blame her! I love that she uses a rice steamer in her display, don't you?!?

When not hosting a major street fair, Atlantic Avenue is known for its authentic Middle Eastern food and it's eclectic Antiquing!!

One of the major highlights was meeting Katherine from Reiter8. She's as brilliantly sweet as her creative mastery would suggest!

The New York Transit Museum's 14th Annual Bus Festival coincided with the Antic as well. There were many of these spiffy old commuters open to the public. It was kid central though (not that there's anything wrong with that..), so I just snapped a couple of shots and we moved right along :)

I also managed a quick action shot of the ever busy Ms. Kimmchi! Have you shopped her yet?? You seriously should.

One of the biggest draws for this Festival are the 11 stages of entertainment. You can see anything from Turkish Belly Dancing to Kiddo sing-a-longs, Nitty Gritty Rock n Roll bands to French Bop. Our very favorites being Popa Chubby & the Black Coffee Blues Band as well as Les Sans Culottes!

All of this washed down with the the perfect Atlantic Amber made by Sixpoint :) What a wonderful day!
