Have you been longing for a little green in your life?? I know I have! Whether you live in a big city or out in the wide open country, I think these little Moss Terrariums are absolutely perfect for indoor life.
I did a little mini post a bit ago on Layer by Layer's little plots of moss. I thought I'd delve into the live goodies as well (for those of us that long to have a green thumb but just haven't gotten our hands dirty enough).
After doing a little bit of research it doesn't seem too hard to actually assemble your own. You basically start with a clear glass container, layer a bit of pebble, acidic soil, moss on top and voila! In reality, I'm guessing it's actually WAY trickier than that! For those of you who prefer to leave it to the professionals, here are a few of my favorite goodies (and supplies) I've found that will ship straight from their door to yours.

i love moss, too! is so soft like organic fur. lovely photos.
What a nice blog..Like the moss idea and it is very beautiful..I kind of laughed at the Mason Jars..Have a bunch of the green ones..They are lovely.
Terrariums always intrigue me...these small, secret little gardens in a jar :) Love these links.
LOVE this post! I just recently got some myself, and will be doing a post sometime this week! :) So pretty!
We have a small patch of moss in our back yard..it is so soft and pretty..I wish we had more...it is spreading a bit into the cracks between the flagstones. I feel it needs a little gnome figurine or mushroom to make it more whimsical!
(but my dog would probably steal it!!)
I saw that little terrarium on Etsy..such a great project!
Aren't you clever :) I LOVE MOSS! I don't quite understand my fascination with it, but it's great :)
I used moss in my wedding table numbers. I had terra cotta pots filled with it with a birch twig sticking out of the pots with a little tag with a number on it. It was so much fun!
I love moss as well!!! When I was little and made "hide-outs" in the forest, I would carpet them with moss. Good times. :)
I'm beyond thrilled to find that I'm not the only freak for moss out there! I too have an unnatural attraction to it :) Thanks for all of your wonderful comments everyone!
I'm a moss lover too!
Kind of like Nature's own Berber.
