*FEATURED ARTIST of the week* ~~SosoRosey~~

1. What do you create?
I crochet with cotton, specialty yarn and vintage fabrics to create unique treasures for the cottage nest...bowls, napkin cuffs, hot pads, baby blankets, bags, etc. My current signature items are the Snuggle Sacque™, the Circle of Life Upcycled Baby Blanket Bowl, the Vintage Fabric Granny Square Trivet, and the Vintage Bedsheet Bowl.

2. What led you to take up your craft?
My Grandma Copeland taught me to crochet when I was about 10, and I have been hooked ever since! I only recently discovered Etsy and realized I have the desire and ability to bring something special to an already amazingly diverse and wonderfully talented community.

3. Which part of your work do you most enjoy?
I love to watch my creations become. I begin each item with only a vague notion of what it may be, and it usually ends up being different and sometimes even better than I expected. I love that no two items are ever the same :)

4. Which part do you find hardest?
My primary job is currently stay at home mom to 2 year old Sophia, so my time to crochet is limited. It is often hard to decide what I want to create in that finite space, knowing that that's "it" for the evening/day/week.

5. Where do you get your inspiration?
Vintage fabrics of all sorts are my passion. I don't know many people besides myself that can grin from ear to ear over finding an old pink floral Cannon towel peeking out from a thrift store rack! Whenever I feel stuck or blue, I head to my textile stash, the local yarn shack, any secondhand store, or just browse around through my favorite Etsy shops to get a boost.

6. Do you participate in any etsy groups, and if so, which ones?
I am a proud member of Etsyfriends and CSST (Cottage Style Street Team).

7. What's one material your shop can't live without?
Vintage bedsheets :)

8. What is your favorite item that you have purchased off of Etsy?
Gosh, this is hard! If I had to pick one it would be my shop banner...

every time I see it I'm reminded of the possibility and love that Etsy represents to me.

9. If I could sell one item from my shop today, it would be...

I was SO hoping this would find a special home for Easter!

10. If I had enough money to pick one item on my wishlist from any shop on etsy to buy, it would be...
THIS!!! What a breathtaking work of magnificent proportions:

11. What are the top three favorite items currently listed in your store?
My favorites change often, but today I'm most pleased with and proud of these:

12. What undiscovered artisans would you recommend the world to know?

All of them! Here are just a few:

13. What is the best advice you have ever received?
I was at a crossroads in my life when my grandfather lay in a hospital bed dying. When he asked what I was going to do I asked him if he had any advice. His next words were "Don't take any advice from anyone- you're the one who's gotta live it". I needed to know that I could rely on my own judgment, and when I need a reminder of it I think back to his words.

I do still heed advice, but not before making sure it really agrees with my gut :)
